The Introduction to Automation Teaching Laboratory Center

I. The Brief Introduction
      The automation teaching laboratory center came into being in February, 1999, by integrating the labs from the computer control technique and the labs from the other three majors: the automatic control, the industrial automation, and the process control and automation. Currently, consisting of five subordinate labs, the center is viewed as one of ten fundamental laboratoies in our university. It, occupying an area of 960 square meters , has nine staff on the regular payroll, among which, one associate professor, one senior engineer, four engineers, and three experimentalists. Their main tasks are providing experimental instruments to undergraduats majored on automation, undertaking the teaching program of production practice, graduation practice, and graduation project, and offering other kinds of control experiments to other majors.
      Thanks to years of restoration and construction, the instruments within and the laboratory itself are looked brand-new. Nowadays, the comprehensive and design experiments take eighty percent of experienments in total while the new set-up experiments account for thirty percent. Many experimental platform have reached the most advanced position in the higher education institute within our country, such as: the experimental platform of electrical, electronic and electric dive, of the programmable control, of the sensors and testing technique, of the automatic control principle, of the process control and meter measurements technique.
     Cooperated with Mitsubish electric company, our school's "Mitsubish FA Laboratory" is in possession of the key technique: the CL-Link open fieldbus , which is rare to our counterpart universities. Innovative experimental laboratory is the fundamental basis for nuturing experimental skills and creative spirits for automation graduates.
     Through the whole staff's endeavor, the center has born many research fruits, which gained the approval and praises from the Education Ministry, Guangdong province, and the university. More than twenty theses have been published on the nationwide journals.

III. Structure:
The center can be divided into five subordinate laboratories.
Sublab 1 concerns the theory of automation and control, undertaking the experiments for the course of Automation Control   Theory.
Sublab 2 concerns the technique of computer control, undertaking the experiments for the course of Computer Control Technique.
Sublab 3 concerns the system of process control, undertaking the experiments for the course of the Process Control System.
Sublab 4 concerns the system of motion control, undertaking the experiments for the course of the system of motion control.
V. Apparatus
Sublab 1: The experimental platform for automation control principle,  the digital oscilloscope,  the system of AC magnetic amplifier and speed adjustment, the AC frequency converter, the programmable controller, computers
Sublab 2: the PIV computers, the open interface instruments, the open computer control technique instrument, the oscilloscope, the universal single-chip development system
Sublab 3: the testing instrument, the experimental platform for machine vision, the experimental platform for CSY-2000C sensor, observation and control technique
Sublab 4: the MCL-II electric drive, the teaching experimental platform for electrical, electronic and electric transmission, the teaching experimental platform for OSPLC-II programmable control, the universal frequency converter, the dual-trace oscilloscope, the AC set, the DC set,  the system of multi-media experimental teaching and management
Sublab 5 the CCD sensor, the FR-740 frequency converter, the FXZN programmable controller, the touch screen, the CC-Link open fieldbus device
