Educational Objectives:
With the programme aims providing the fundamental knowledge and techniques on materials molding and controlling. Students can engage in scientific research, technology development and management capabilities in the related fields such as materials controlling and process optimization, developing and fabricating of new materials & products, mold design and computer simulation on materials processing, and so on. There are seven objectives in this programme, which are listed as follows:
Objective 1: [foundation knowledge] to acquire the basic theories and professional knowledge of materials science, materials molding, metal materials and heat treatment, basic theory of computer and automatic control engineering and so on. Through contacting and mastering advanced methods in this field, students receive practical training of modern engineering, and acquire a solid foundation of professional knowledge and basic skills that will be applied to the metal material molding and control engineering practice.
Objective 2: [problem-solving ability] to train the students to creatively use the basic principles of metal materials processing and molding to solve the problems occurred in the practice and industry demand in the fields of metal materials processing and molding machinery and molds design, controlling and process optimization, new materials and new product development and other fields.And it equips  the students with high-level compound abilities to be competent in the profession of scientific research, technology development and management.
Objective 3: [team-work and leadership] Train students’ capabilities in communication and team collaboration, and thus can have the leadership in metal materials processing and molding engineering field. This program also aims to equip the students with team spirit, and the basic capabilities of scientific decision-making, organization and management.
Objective 4: [systematic understanding of the discipline] to recognize that the metal materials molding is the important part to achieve practical system design and equipment of metal industry, and make it serve the community and the world.
Objective 5: [ability of evaluating social impacts] to form a correct view of metal materials which have the potential impact on human’s daily life, economic structure of industry and commerce and human health. Students should have the assessment capabilities for social influence of the specialized metal materials processing and molding.
Objective 6: [global perspective] In the globalizing environment, students can maintain clear awareness, and perfom their duties competitively and responsibly
Objective 7: [lifelong learning] metal materials molding and control engineering graduates can be capable of engaging in careers with various experience, and lifelong learning.

This speciality meets the demands for high-quality integrated talent of metal materials molding specialized field. Expertise is related to metal materials science and engineering, materials molding process, metal materials and heat treatment, computers and automation, etc. It is characterized with cross of multi-displinaries.Students have wide knowledge and employment adaptability. Graduate students can work in the materials, machine, automotive, electronics, computer and other industries or departments engaged in the product design, process and manufacturing, science research, test and control, computer simulation, engineering technology management and so on, and also engage in researching and teacing work of related interdisciplinary.
