Educational Objectives:
Objective 1:[Foundations] students are cultivated to have a solid foundation of thermal dynamic engineering theory, research methods and approaches, and able to apply knowledge into thermal dynamic engineering practice. Objective 2:[Professional Knowledge] students are expected to have techniques of  the frontier designing , analyzing and calculating equipments, and apply  heat transfer, conversion and utilization of nuclear efficiently. Students are supposed to prepare for the design and operation technology of thermal automated control, reactor core, and other important system and equipment in nuclear power plant. Moreover, Students should develop the ability of solving practical engineering problems creatively with fundamental theory and technology of nuclear engineering they learn.
Objective 3:[Teamwork/Leadership]
[Teamwork/Leadership]To cultivate students for efficient communicating and cooperating skills, and furthermore engineering leadership in the field of nuclear engineering and technology .
Objective 4:[Engineered Systems] students are expected to have efficient foreign language and computer skill, together with advanced engineering ability in technology, research and management conforming to the demand of social and economic development.
Objective 5: [social impact]: Students are expected to have an accurate sharp view in how the selection and design of the related technologies, and equipment in the field of nuclear power engineering affect people's daily life and industrial economic structure.
6 Objective:[Global Realization Systems]Students are supposed to have a sharp awareness and a competitive responsibility in the background of globalization.
7 Objective: [Lifelong Learning Systems]The graduates are expected to be competent for the relative research, planning, technology improvement, design, construction and operation management, with lifelong learning capability.
Speciality Features:
This discipline focuses on operation, control and management technology of the nuclear power plant. Students are expected to have fundamental systematic knowledge of the nuclear power, basic principle and method of operation and management of nuclear power equipment, be familiar with heat transfer, conversion and application of nuclear power plant. Also students will be cultivated to know the principle of energy production in nuclear reactor, the flowing process of coolant, reactor dynamics, thermal analyzing method in steady state, management technology of the nuclear fuel and disposal technology of radiative waste.
Educational Requirement:
The objective system of each course is composed of a corresponding set of cultivation purposes, which are the appropriate knowledge, ability and quality.  Students are needed to have related theory in nuclear reactor engineering and operation of nuclear power, and to grow the ability for working in nuclear engineering design, construction and operation position.
