Educational Objectives:
To cultivate advanced professional and technical personnel who have a solid understanding of basic theory in field of information display and optoelectronic technology, and have a scientific experiment and scientific thinking training.The students should be able to reach the following goals upon the completion of the degree program:
Objective 1:[Foundations]To gain a solid understanding of the fundamental knowledge of optoelectronic materials and devices, to grasp a variety of characterization methods and their applications in different optoelectronic materials, and to master the basic working principles and basic structure of different all kinds of devices.
Objective 2:[Professional Knowledge]To develop and improve problem-solving expertise in scientific research and engineering practices using professional knowledge and methodology of optoelectronic technology.
Objective 3:[Teamwork/Leadership]To develop communication and cooperation skills for team work, and gain project management abilities in the field of information display and optoelectronics technology.
Objective 4:[Engineered Systems]To have the students realize the important role of information display and optoelectronics technology in national economy, science and technology aspects; and to become professionals in solving optoelectronic materials and devices related theoretical and/or technical problems through studies, trainings and practices.
Objective 5:[Societal Impact]To assess the potential influence of information display and optoelectronics technology to the daily life, economic structures of industry and commerce, and health of human beings.
Objective 6:[Global Awareness]To maintain a clear global awareness of the globalization trends and perform his(her) own duties in a responsible and competitive manner.
Objective 7:[Lifelong Learning]The graduates can be engaged in scientific research, development and management in field of modern information display, electrocommunication, photoelectronic imaging, sensor, solar cell, semiconductor lighting, etc. They also gain abilities of self-perfection, self-improvement and lifelong learning.
Speciality Features:
The undergraduate degree program in Information Display and Optoelectronic Technology emphasizes the fundamental studies of photoelectric material and devices. The main direction of teaching and scientific research include: Photoelectric Science and Technology, Information Display Technology, Semiconductor Lighting Technology, Photovoltaic solar cells device, Fibre Optical Communication Technology. The graduates should possess a solid understanding of the theoretical basis for this discipline and a broad appreciation of engineering related subjects, and have the potentials and abilities to pursue higher degrees.
