Educational Objectives:
The programme aims to cultivate the high quality pharmaceutical intelligent talents, who adapt to the requirements of national modernization construction and social developments, who possess noble moral and humanities accomplishment, wide-range foundation knowledge, innovation spirit and good mental and physical health. Students will undertake designing, planning, research, development, production, operation and management in the fields of industry of fine chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, great healthy industry, etc.
Objective 1:[Foundations] to learn basic knowledge, essential disciplinary basic knowledge and basic theories, methods and tools, and to be in contact with the most advanced knowledge in the field, and to understand the policies, laws, regulations of production, designing, research and development, environmental protection and sustainable development in the related fields.
Objective 2:[Professional Knowledge] to be able to establish, through experiments and practices, innovating research and practice skills and to creatively use the scientific theories and means to analyze and solve problems in pharmaceutical industry and related fields.
Objective 3:[Teamwork/Leadership] Students’ strong communication ability, interpersonal interaction ability, team cooperation ability are cultivated. Organization ability and leadership in pharmaceutical engineering are also promoted.
Objective 4:[Engineered Systems] to correctly understand the role of pharmaceutical engineering, and possess the ability of engineering technological development and designing, improving the transformation of achievement to industrial application.
Objective 5:[Societal Impact] to correctly understand the effect of pharmaceutical engineering on human daily life, health, society and economic structure, and possess the ability of serving the society with it.
Objective 6:[Global Awareness] to have the international view and ability of intercultural communication, competition and cooperation.
Objective 7: [Lifelong Learning] to correctly understand lifelong learning, and to have the ability of lifelong learning and adapting to social progress.
Programme Features:
    This programme is wide-scope in that it integrates various disciplines including chemistry, pharmacy, biology and engineering. Through this programme, students are expected to have a wide range of knowledge, strong adaptability and engineered capability. Engineering is one of the strong fields of the university, and with such a the base, the programme has the advantage in equipping students with the knowledge and skills to acquire advanced knowledge concerning pharmacy, pharmaceutical technique design and engineering equipments etc.. The curriculum covers courses for taking the Chinese licensed pharmacist exams, innovating training and entrepreneurship education courses, which can help students take career in a wider range of sectors.  The programme also offers students chances of further education including Master of Pharmaceutical Engineering and PhD.
Educational Requirement:
The students of this programme should master the basic theory and knowledge of chemical pharmaceutical disciplines and have the abilities of analyzing and solving practical engineering problems; obtain the basic capacity of the chemical process analysis, product technology development, engineering design, research and innovation by receiving training of preliminary design methods, new drug technology, scientific research methods, marketing and management methods; understand the scientific advances of the professional and the new knowledge in adjacent disciplines.  Graduates should obtain the knowledge as follows:
1. A better quality humanities and social sciences, a strong sense of social responsibility and well work ethics;
2. Knowledge of relevant mathematics, natural science for engineering work;
3. Core knowledge in the field of pharmaceutical engineering;
4. Basic knowledge and technology of chemistry, chemical engineering and pharmacy;
5. Certain knowledge of management;
6. Cross-cultural and international knowledge.
Graduates should achieve the ability as follows:
1. A strong ability of comprehensively using the scientific theories and techniques to analyze and solve engineering problems.
2. The necessary basic engineering knowledge and basic theory of the specialty, the production, design, research and development, laws, regulations related to  the professional occupations and industries,  the development trends of the professional.
3. The experimental technology, methods of engineering practice, design and scientific research, and the initial capacity for new products, new processes, new technologies and new equipment research, development and design;
4.  A certain organization and management skills, strong language skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to play a role in the team;
5. The basic method of the literature search, data query and access to relevant information;
6. Proficiency of at least one foreign language;
7. Computer proficiency;
8. Analytical writing skills;
9. Preliminary aesthetic to literary and artistic works;
10. An international perspective and cross-cultural communication, competition and collaboration;
11. A sense of innovation and creativity;
12. A correct understanding of lifelong learning and learning ability, with the ability to adapt to the development.
