Educational Objectives:
    This is a science program focusing on mathematical foundation of information technology and computing technology. Students should have solid mathematical foundation and mathematical thinking abilities, acquire basic theory, methods and skills of Information and Computational Mathematics, receive initial training in scientific research, and have abilities to solve practical problems in information technology, information science and engineering. The aim is to cultivate professional personnel with abilities to engage in scientific research, teaching, application development in fields of science and technology, education, information industry, economy and finance.      
Objective 1: [Foundations] Students can have fundamental knowledge of mathematics, knowledge of social science, foreign language skills; acquire basic theory skills of information and computational mathematics.
Objective 2: [The ability of analyzing and solving problems] Students should learn the method of applying mathematical knowledge and mathematical modeling, the ability to solve practical problems with computer.and have  strong potential to analyze and solve both theoretical and practical issues with mathematical theory.
Objective 3: [Systematic cognitive and innovative capability]Studnets can know the methodologies and techniques of applying mathematical knowledge and computer to solve practical problems in the field of information technology and engineering computing, and enhance cognitive abilities and innovative abilities in practice.
Objective 4:[Teamwork/Leadership] Students can possess the ability of organization and management, expression skills, interpersonal skills, and playing the role in the team.
Objective 5:[Societal impact] Students can understand the latest development of information science, computing science theory, techniques and applications and be aware of the potential impacts of the development and application of information technology and scientific computing on daily life and the economic structures.
Objective 6:[Global Awareness] Students can have international view and global competition consciousness, and the ability of intercultural communication, competition and cooperation.
Objective 7:[Lifelong Learning] Students can have the ability to adapt to development, correct understanding of lifelong learning, and strong ability of self-study.
Speciality Features:
  This speciality stresses the combination of the theories of mathematics, information science and computing science. It aims at enabling students to receive basic training in mathematics, cultivating students awareness and abilities in mathematic application as well as abilities in logical analysis and logical inference, raising abilities of computer use. Students are requested to have a solid foundation and abilities of working in the fields of information and computing science.

    The objective system of each course is composed of a corresponding set of cultivation purposes, which are the appropriate knowledge, ability and quality that students are supposed to gain.
