Educational Objectives:
Students of this programme are expected to have a solid theoretical foundation and a good ability in performing practices in (computer science) with innovation and self-study ability.
Objective 1 [Fundamental Knowledge] Students are expected to build a solid fundamental knowledge frame including the knowledge of basic principles concerning the discipline, methods and skills in computer science and technology; to make good preparation for applying the fundamental knowledge to the researches of Network Engineering as well as adopting the engineering practice by making use of the advanced techniques, like system analysis, modeling and computing.Objective 2 [Problem-solving Capability] Students should master the advanced technologies in network engineering and develop the capacity of network-based application and development.
Objective 3 [Teamwork and Leadership] Students should have capabilities of cooperation and communication in the team work, and then possess the leadership ability in the area of computer science and engineering.Objective 4 [Systematic Understanding of the Discipline] From the perspective of HR requirements, students of Network Engineering should have the relevant knowledge of network management, network programming, network information process and network security, together with a focus on the students’ technology foundation of network engineering and basic engineering skill training.
Objective 5 [Ability of Evaluating Social and Environmental Impacts] Students should build up a clear understanding concerning the societal impacts that computer networking can have on people’s daily live and social development.
Objective 6 [Global Perspective] Students should maintain clear-minded in the globalized environment, and carry out their duties responsibly and competitively.
Objective 7 [Lifelong Learning] Graduates from Computer Science and Technology can be engaged in research, or find jobs in industries and enterprises concerning software and hardware developments, and also computer research and application in finance and management institutions. Students of the programme are also able to carry out further study in Master and PhD and hence have the ability of lifelong learning.
Programme Features:
The programme places emphasis on the basic principles and methods in computer network and student’s capacity of practical application. Based on the cultivation requirements of talents with capacity of network engineering, the programme focuses on theories and technology in network management, network information process and network security, and the network-based application and development. Lay special emphasis on the capability cultivation of students in engineering and application.
