Educational Objectives:
Students of this programme are expected to have a solid theoretical foundation and a good ability in performing practices in computer science with innovation and self-study ability.Objective 1 [Fundamental Knowledge] Students are expected to build a solid fundamental knowledge frame including the knowledge concerning the discipline, methods and skills in computer science and technology; to make good preparation for applying the fundamental knowledge to the researches of information securityas well as studying and mastering the advanced methods and technology in information security hardware design, development and application.
Objective 2 [Problem-solving Capability] Students should creatively apply fundamental knowledge of computer science and information security to solve the problems encountered in actual practices.
Objective 3 [Teamwork and Leadership] Students should have capabilities of cooperation and communication in the team work, and then possess the leadership ability in IT and relevant fields.
Objective 4 [Systematic Understanding of the Discipline] Students should have the relevant knowledge of computing, networking and information security by studying basic principles and technologies of the relevant fields and become professional and technical personnel in the fields/departments of information security software and hardware research, development and applications with capacity to work at foundation and technology research, hardware and software development, information security system planning, development and operation.. Students are expected to establish some good senses of engineering and efficiency, a systematic integration of cognition and practice, and also the ability to apply bottom-up and top-down analyses to actual problems.
Objective 5 [Ability of Evaluating Social and Environmental Impacts] Students should build up a clear understanding concerning the societal impacts information technology developments can lead to, and also concerning the potential effects that the design and the application of computer systems can have on people’s daily life and the industrial and commercial structures of business/industry.
Objective 6 [Global Perspective] Students should maintain clear-minded in the globalized environment, and carry out their duties responsibly and competitively.
Objective 7 [Lifelong Learning] Graduates from Information Security can be engaged in research and teaching, or find jobs in industries and enterprises concerning computer, communication, electronic information, e-commerce, e-finance, e-government. Students of the programme are also able to carry out further study in Master and PhD and hence have the ability of lifelong learning.
Programme Features:
The programme has its focus on the mathematical ability and the vastness of students’ fundamental knowledge. Through the study, students are able to master cryptology, network attack and defense and information system security. Meanwhile, through the flexible integration with research innovation and practice, and with the support of teaching & research, students can know the advanced theory, application and development in relation to Information Security, and have certain ability of academic research.
