Educational Objectives:
Students of this programme are expected to have a comprehensive theoretical foundation and a good ability in performing practices in environmental science engineering.
Objective 1: [Foundations] to master the basic knowledge of environmental engineering including treatment and control of water pollution, air pollution, solid waste pollution. Relevant knowledge of water supply and drainage engineering, environmental planning, and resource protection are also included. 
Objective 2: [Professional Knowledge] to gain abilities of research on environmental theory and techniques, developing environmental craft and equipment, environmental planning, environmental management, design and management of pollution control engineering.
Objective 3: [Teamwork/Leadership] to have efficient communication and cooperation skills, and furthermore engineering leadership in the field of environmental engineering. 
Objective 4: [Engineered Systems] to have the understanding that the principles and technology of pollution control are essential for environmental engineering system design and for environmental equipment development. Students are encouraged to apply their knowledge into social practices and contribute to the social development.  
Objective 5: [Societal Impact] to be familiar with policies, laws, regulations, guidelines of environmental protection and sustainable development and to understand the influence of environmental engineering on nature and our society.
Objective 6: [Global Awareness] to have the understanding of sustainable development and the capability of thinking logically, behaving responsibly, and working competitively in a globalized world.
Objective 7: [Lifelong Learning] graduates majored in environmental engineering will be qualified for relevant jobs and be capable of lifelong learning.
Programme Features:
Environmental Engineering aims to cultivate students’ capability of engineering application based on solid theoretical knowledge, to improve students’ professional capability during research-based projects and/or industry-based projects. This major has specialties on engineering of water treatment, engineering of air pollution control, solid waste disposal and recycling, and biological technology.  
Educational Requirement:
The objective system of each course is composed of a corresponding set of cultivation purposes, which are the appropriate knowledge, ability and quality that students are supposed to gain.
(1)Knowledge requirement:
Students are cultivated to have professional knowledge of environmental pollution and control, environmental ecology and resource protection, environmental planning and management.
(2)Ability requirement:
Students are required to master basic craft and design of environmental pollution control and equipment development, ability of research, development, and design. They should also have the ability of management in improvement of craft, techniques, and equipment in the area of environmental science and engineering.
(3)Engineering requirement:
To receive basic training for experimental skills, design and operation of pollution control engineering; to be familiar with related standard, Specification, regulations, laws and policies on environmental protection and on design, development and research on environmental engineering.   
(4)Quality requirement:
To understand students’ professional duties on human health, safety in manufacturing process and ecological environmental protection.
