Educational Objectives:
Biotechnology graduates should be capable of a variety of career experiences with life-long learning.
Objective 1: [foundation] Students of Biotechnology major are required to have the basic knowledge of life science and professional skills in biotechnology. Students are trained to be lab-ready for scientific research and product development. Basic knowledge of economic management, humanities and arts will be covered for student’s training.
Objective 2: [Professional Knowledge] Students is trained to use the knowledge they learned to solve practical problems, including the bioinformatics analysis, molecular cloning, protein expression, fermentation, purification, and so on.
Objective 3: [Teamwork/Leadership] Students should possess communication and team collaboration capabilities, and thus can have leadership skills in production and management of biological industry.
Objective 4: [Global Awareness] Biotechnology graduates should have a global view on the latest biotechnologies and keep competent to take challenges in the fast bio-industry development.
Objective 5: [life-long learning ability] Biotechnology graduates are competent in research, technology development, teaching and management in associated field. The career fields for graduates include biopharmaceutics, food industry, fermentation and agriculture.
Programme Features:
The Omics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomic) age of life science is coming, and the new biotechnology are developing fast accordingly. Biotechnology keeps eyes on high-tech bio-industry, training students to fit modern life-science development, especially on the bioinformatics and molecular technology. Graduates are qualified for jobs in biotechnology, biopharmaceutics, food industry, fermentation and agriculture.
Educational Requirement:
The objective system of each course is composed of a corresponding set of cultivation purposes, which are the appropriate knowledge, ability and quality that students are supposed to gain.
