Educational Objectives:
This major cultivates students who master basic theory of Economics and Management, have relevant theoretical knowledge and skills in international tourism management field. This major trains the professionals who are familiar with international tourism industry development trend, possess a broad spectrum of knowledge, and have good actual operation ability, adaptation ability and presentation skills, honesty and integrity, foreign language proficiency and good computer application skills.
Objective 1: [Foundations] Train students to grasp solid knowledge of tourism management, including basic theory and tourism system, cultivate students’ fundamental quality of managing and serving in tourism industry, enable them to master practical skills, academic research methods, and basic principles.
Objective 2: [Academic Research] Train students to learn and research, enable them to do preliminary academic research by literature analysis and case study.
Objective 3: [Problem Solving] Cultivate students’ keen observation ability and solid practical operation ability,  familiarize students with the main business and management process in tourism enterprises through exercitation, enable them to independently complete all departments’ management and practice work in tourism industry.
Objective 4: [Teamwork & Leadership] Train students to have teamwork communication and collaboration capabilities, teach them communication abilities, public relations capabilities, team spirit, innovation and decision-making capabilities, and thus enable them to lead in actual tourism m management.
Objective 5: [Societal Impact Assessing Abilities] Train students to correctly assess the related impacts of tourism service, operation and management on people’s daily life, social & economic development fields , and to constantly promote this major’s influence on society.
Objective 6: [Language & Business Skills] Train students to maintain a clear awareness, strengthen language competence especially English, to enable students to communicate, cooperate and cope well in Chinese and foreign business communication.
Objective 7: [Intercultural competence & Global Awareness] Develop students' intercultural interflow, communication and tolerance ability, to make them adapt to the working atmosphere in international hotel chains and tourism enterprise groups.
Objective 8: [Lifelong Learning] The graduates of tourism management major have good competition in large domestic and international hotel management group, relevant consulting firms, large and medium-sized tourism enterprises, conference and exhibition firms, tourism administration department, universities and colleges, research institute and academy, they also could proceed to the master tourism management degree or relevant major degree. Cultivate graduates with the basic ability for a variety of career experiences and life-long learning.

With the cooperation with world famous hotel management industry group, tourism enterprise groups, world famous tourism management education research organizations and administrative departments, our graduations can exercise the leadership of international hotel and tourism management, learn the advanced tourism development theories and practice experiences, practise comprehensive tourism and hotel management abilities, and have related vocational techniques and experience. They can also pursue master or doctor degree related to tourism management.
