Educational Objectives:
Students of this programme are expected to have a solid theoretical foundation and a good ability in performing practices in electrical power engineering with innovation and self-study ability.
Objective 1:[Foundations] students are cultivated to have a solid foundation of electrical engineering theory, research methods and approaches.. In addition, implementing advanced methods within the domains of electrical equipment, power system analysis and modeling in preparing them to bridge the knowledge and practical electrical engineering applications.
Objective 2:[Professional Knowledge] To cultivate students to be competent in solving practical industrial problems with the basic principle of the electrical engineering.
Objective 3:[Teamwork/Leadership] To cultivate students for efficient communicating and cooperating skills, and furthermore engineering leadership in the field of electrical engineering.
Objective 4:[Engineered Systems cognition] To cultivate students to have a comprehensive knowledge of planning, designing and co-operating power system ,especially power generation, transmission, substation and power equipments in that system.
Objective 5:[Professional Social Evaluation Systems] To cultivate students to establish an appropriate evaluation for electricity, recognize the tremendous potential influence of electricity as an important energy source over people's daily life, industrial economic structure and social development.
Objective 6:[Global Awareness Construction Systems] To cultivate students for a sharp awareness and a competitive responsibility in the global environment
Objective 7:[A Lifelong Learning Systems] A graduate in electrical engineering is expected to be competent in future career with a lifelong learning capability.

Electrical Engineering and Automation is a wide caliber specialty which embraces a wide range professional orientations consisting of power system and automation、electric machines and electric apparatus、power electronics and power drives、high voltage and insulation technology. Moreover, beyond authorizing first level doctoral discipline, we focus on linking a close beneficial partnership with electrical engineering industry by conducting research mutually,which has gradually formed an advantageous and distinctive research orientation.
