Educational Objectives:
Students of this programme are expected to have a solid and vast theoretical foundation and a comprehensive combination of skills in foreign languages and communication, economic math application, computer literacy and actual ability in participating in actual economy-related activities.
Objective 1 [Foundations] Student can have a solid base on professional knowledge in relation to economics, dynamic optimization methods and general equilibrium analysis, providing students who want to be engaged in future research with concrete knowledge foundation in math and modern economics. On the other hand, students can gain knowledge in relation to finance, security, financial accounting and tax law and are prepared to apply these above knowledge to the actual work of economic management.
Objective 2 [Problem-solving Capability] Students should creatively apply fundamental knowledge of modern economic analysis tools in understanding and solving economy-related issues.
Objective 3 [Teamwork/Leadership] Students are able to participate in teamwork communication and collaboration which help them to improve capabilities in economic management, and also certain the leadership skills in area of finance investment.
Objective 4 [Perceptibility of Economic Systems] Students come to an understanding of macro-economy as an important part of social operation and management system.
Objective 5: [Societal Impact Assessing Abilities] Train students to correctly assess the potential impacts of economic theory, economic analyzing methods and economic forecast on the daily life, social & economic development, and human health.
Objective 6: [Global Awareness] Train students to maintain a clear awareness, as well as the competitive and responsible exercise of their duties in a globalizing environment.
Objective 7: [Lifelong Learning] Enable graduates to excel in economic management in the sectors such as government, financial sector and business sector, and be able to learn life long.
Programme Features:
The major of economics is a theoretical major of economic field. These courses uphold the theory-oriented tradition, aiming to train students to have solid knowledge of math which is helpful to further study in economics, and to train students to use economic theory and economic analysis tools in economic management. Graduates will have basic theoretical knowledge, basic research techniques and basic learning ability to pursue master or doctor degree related to economics.
