SCUT wins its first national education sciences research awards

On 2nd Nov, the 5th national education sciences research awards is released by Ministry of Education. Two research achievements from SCUT are awarded, making a breakthrough on this award. Research Report on Optimized Allocation of Universities’ Assets and Resources, a decision consulting report led by research Peng Xinyi, wins the second prize, and Research on Tacit Knowledge Sharing and Management in the Scientific Research Team of Universities, a work applied by Prof. Li Zhihong, gets the third prize.

Research Report on Optimized Allocation of Universities’ Assets and Resources, hosted by Peng Xinyi, is a major achievement of “research on the optimized allocation of assets and resources of universities directly under ministry of education in the direction of disciplines”, a project from ministry of education. The project builds an optimized allocation model in the direction of disciplines after a thorough analysis of the big data collected from 75 universities directly under ministry of education. This model can optimize human, financial and material resources in an all round way, effectively solving the contradictions between the shortage of educational resources and the demand for discipline development. This achievement has already been accepted by finance division of ministry of education, and is recognized and studied by other universities, becoming a main reference for the proper allocation of educational resources.  
 

 
Research on Tacit Knowledge Sharing and Management in the Scientific Research Team of Universities, hosted by Li Hongzhi, is a research achievement in a project conducted by national social and scientific fund. It makes an in-depth analysis on the impact mechanism of tacit knowledge sharing in the scientific research team of universities, builds up a comprehensive theory-analyzing framework and proposes the management strategies. It is significant for guiding research teams to conduct management practices.
 
National education sciences research award, approved by CPC and State Council, is one of the six awards made by ministry of education. The award is issued every five years. 298 achievements are awarded this year, with 23 first prizes, 85 second prizes and 190 third prizes. Guangdong province has no first prize winner this year but 3 second prizes winners.
