The 10th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week was opened on July 28 in Guiyang, Guizhou province. Chinese Vice-Premier Liu Yandong and high ranking officials of the State Council, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Guizhou provincial government were present on the opening ceremony, with Liu Yandong addressing a keynote speech. Zhang Xichun, Secretary of the CPC SCUT Committee, also attended the event.
During the period, the “Belt and Road” Talents Cultivation University-Enterprise Alliance was officially established, introducing SCUT as one of its standing council members. The founding ceremony was presided over by Minister of Education Chen Baosheng, together with Guizhou Governor Sun Zhigang unveiling the plaque for the alliance.
By bringing together nearly 200 people of the educational circle and the business circle in China, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries, the meeting of the alliance talked about cooperative issues between universities and enterprises in fostering talents under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
Multiple agreements of university-enterprise cooperation were signed, and a memorandum of conversation called the Guiyang Declaration was issued.
