Educational Objectives:
To educate the students to take the Socialist’s perspective, to adapt to the needs of the market economy and technology development, to have comprehensive development in moral, intelligence, sports and aesthetics education, to train planners and other advanced planning talents with strong professional basic theory and skills.
Objective 1:[foundation knowledge] Based on the integrated platform of the broad architectural discipline, to enable students to grasp solid professional basic principles, methods and skills.
Objective 2:[ problem-solving ability] Based on the basic principles and skills in urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture, to enable students to resolve problems creatively in urban planning, design, construction and management practices.
Objective 3:[Teamwork/Leadership] Built on the foundation of design studio, to provide communication and group work training, to enable students to practice planning research and to establish leadership in planning projects.
Objective 4:[ systematic understanding of the discipline] To let students understand that urban planning and design is to realize the healthy development of the complicated urban system, which is to service the society.
Objective 5:[ ability of evaluating social and environmental impacts] To enable students to understand the impacts of urban planning and design on resolving urban problems, helping the running of the urban system, and promoting sustainable development.
Objective 6:[global perspective] To enable students to have a clear awareness in the background of globalization, to carry out tasks competitively and responsibly.
Objective 7:[lifelong learning] Graduates can handle the work as city planning design, research and management in relational work units, and also engage in the work like urban planning and landscape design,build up the ability of lifelong learning.
Programme Features:
This discipline is a part of the built environment science, which include urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture, in order to foster urban planning focused professionals who also have integrated knowledge of architecture and landscape architecture. The course structure include a three-year common training and two-year professional training, emphasizing a broad discipline foundation, a strong practice ability, and the freedom of choice based on personal interest.
Educational Requirements:
The objective system of each course is composed of a corresponding set of cultivation purposes, which are the appropriate knowledge, ability and quality that students are supposed to gain.
