Educational Objectives:

Objective 1:[Foundations] The aim of the programme is to provide students with a solid theoretical foundation in electronic science and technology and a good knowledge of electronic materials and devices as well as their applied electronic circuits technology. The contents covered aim to have breadth to allow graduates to work across boundaries, as well as depth to equip and prepare them to have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to pursue a career as professional engineers and to meet the demands for pursuing postgraduate studies. This major aims to prepare graduates to have the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to pursue a career as professional engineers.
Objective 2:[Professional Knowledge] The program provides students with the ability of designing and conducting experiments as well as analyzing and interpreting data, and applying knowledge of electronic applied technology, materials science and engineering to identify and solve practical engineering problems.
Objective 3:[Teamwork/Leadership] The program prepares students to be able to communicate and function effectively and responsibly as a team member.
Objective 4:[Engineered Systems] The program convinces students that electronic materials and devices are important parts of the design and equipment of electronic engineering systems to serve to the society and the world.
Objective 5:[Societal Impact] The program help student properly treat the potential impact of the choice, designing and application of electronic materials and electronic components on daily life, economic structure, and human health.
Objective 6:[Global Awareness] The program provides students with the knowledge in contemporary issues and clear consciousness in an environment of globalization, and makes students to take the responsibilities seriously.
Objective 7:[Lifelong Learning] The graduates will be eligible for industrial enterprises to design, fabricate, do research and quality management in electronic materials and electronic information engineering, automatization and intelligent systems. In addition, the graduates will also be eligible for doing research and teaching in institutes and academies. The program prepares graduates to have the ability and vision that will enable them to become independent life-long learners in this rapidly changing high-tech industry.
Speciality Features:
Electronic Science & Technology (Electronic Materials & Devices) is an interdisciplinary discipline integrating electronic technology, materials science and chemistry. The major aims to provide students with an education in electronic materials and devices as well as a good knowledge of their applied electronic circuits technology, and in the meantime, to equip students with solid professional knowledge and skills, as well as the fabrication, design, processing, analyzing, production and characterization of electronic materials and components. This major is designed to cultivate comprehensive senior scientists and engineers who are engaged in the investigation and development of electronic materials, functional devices and their applied electronic technology.
