SCUT plans to set up an academic partnership with the Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (Toulouse INP) in France, after its Vice President Pascal Maussion paid a visit to SCUT on November 2.
The guest was received by Zeng Fanrong, SCUT’s Assistant to President, who introduced SCUT’s general situation and its present partnerships with higher education institutions in France, and then discussed about possibilities of conducting cooperation in joint student exchange programs and scientific research programs.
Pascal Maussion also presented Toulouse INP’s basic information and introduced some of its strongest fields of study.
The two parties reached a consensus of establishing a partnership, starting from short-term student exchange programs, and subsequently enlarging the scope of communication and collaboration in other fields.
Heads of SCUT’s International Office, School of Electric Power, School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering were also present on the meeting.
The Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in Toulouse, a research base for the French National Aerospace Research Centre and Airbus SE.
Its academic strong points include chemical engineering, new materials, energy engineering, aerospace materials, information and telecommunication engineering, and microelectronic technique.
This June, SCUT signed a cooperation memorandum with the Federal University of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées, which includes Toulouse INP as a member.
