Anna Czarna, PhD. Research scientist at Department of Advanced Therapy, Cardiocentro Ticino, Swiss Institute for Regenerative Medicine (SIRM), scientist with several years of experience in biochemical and cellular laboratories. Received a Ph.D in Biochemistry (2006-2009) at Max Planck Institute Universität München, MPI Biochemie, Munich, Germany in the Department of Prof.In 2016 started as research scientist in Cardiocentro Ticino, in a newly formed unit of Advanced Therapies, working with human heart lung samples to develop the methodology to treat the pulmonary diseases in patients with Diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, as well continuing the translational science initialized at HMS within the regenerative medicine and stem cell research. The research not only concentrates around the pulmonary disease but also touch the aspect of diabetes and diabetic cardiomyopathy as part of the stem cell research.
